Bonsai Chi Daily Exercise Tips & Tricks #4

Feel more energised

A short gentle, low-impact exercise routine, which will re-energise your body.  You don’t require much room, it can be done standing on the spot or sitting on a chair.

Pop some relaxing music on and allow your mind to relax and calm, enjoying the feeling of moving meditation.

  • Place your feet shoulder width apart
  • Place your hands in front of you as if they’re resting on a table top
  • Step forward with your left foot creating an X with your arms at head height
  • Arms circle wide as you step back to your original position
  • Step forward with your right foot creating an X with your arms at head height
  • Arms circle wide as you step back to your original position

Tip: ensure both feet are flat on the floor when you step forward and keep your back straight.  Don’t reach for it, finish at your natural reach

Tip 2: to add more complexity step backwards instead

Do not do anything that causes you any discomfort, adapt the movement so it works with your body, not against it.
